Ant Killer Powders

Along ant trails, at entry points, and into the cracks and crevices where ants travel. Apply a light, barely visible dusting rather than a thick pile - a thin layer goes further and is less likely to be disturbed or walked around. Keep it away from food preparation surfaces.

Less than most people apply. A thin film is the aim; a visible heap tends to get avoided and gets cleaned up. Work it into gaps with a brush or the applicator nozzle rather than tipping it out.

Powders keep working as long as they stay dry and undisturbed. Reapply if the dust has been vacuumed up, cleaned away, covered over or exposed to damp. In a kitchen that may mean reapplying regularly; in an undisturbed void it can stay put much longer.

Apply as directed on the label and put it where children and pets will not be in direct contact - into cracks, crevices and voids rather than across open floor. Avoid raising dust when applying, and read the label for any restrictions on where the product can be used.

Powder treats the route; it doesn't deal with the nest. Bait stations work differently - foragers carry the bait back, which is what reaches the colony. Don't spray or dust a trail you are also baiting, since killing the foragers stops the bait getting home. Alongside either, seal entry points and keep food in airtight containers.
