Live & Humane Mouse Traps

Live mouse traps are designed to safely capture mice without harming them. They use non-toxic bait to lure the mouse into the trap, which then closes securely, allowing for easy and humane release.

Place the trap along walls, in corners, or near areas where mice activity has been noticed, e.g. sightings, droppings or gnaw marks. Mice prefer secluded, hidden paths.

You can use professional attractants for best results. Foods like peanut butter, seeds, or small pieces of fruit are also highly effective as bait. Avoid using spoiled or overly fragrant food, as it may deter mice.

Release the mouse at least 2-3 miles away from your home or building in a natural, wooded area to prevent it from returning. Always wear gloves when handling the trap.

Check it regularly - a live trap left unattended is not humane, since a mouse held without food or water will suffer. Set traps where you will pass them daily, and don't set them somewhere you won't be returning to for a few days.

Live mouse traps use no chemicals and no snapping mechanism, so the risk is low compared with other trap types. Keep them out of reach of pets and children all the same, to avoid the trap being disturbed or a caught mouse being handled.

These live-catch traps contain no active substance at all, and neither do snap or electronic traps. Whichever you use, close the obvious entry points from outside while you trap - a mouse gets through a gap of around 5mm, roughly a pencil's width, so wire wool, door sweeps and air brick covers are what stop the next one following the same route in. Complete the seal once activity stops; sealing a building with mice still inside just shuts them in.
