Residual Insecticide Powders

Residual Insecticide Powders leave an active treatment in place to help reduce repeat activity over time, making them ideal for entry points and harbourage areas. Apply a light dust into cracks, crevices and voids where pests travel or hide, and keep it dry and undisturbed for best performance (as directed). Use alongside hygiene and proofing for longer-term control. Always follow the label, and keep children and pets away until treated areas are secure/safe.

FAQs: Residual Insecticide Powders

Residual insecticide powders are designed to keep working after application, leaving a long-lasting treatment in place so insects are affected when they crawl through treated cracks, crevices, and voids. They’re ideal for ongoing control where pests are hiding or activity keeps returning.

Residual powders work best when applied as a thin, targeted dusting in insect harbourages and travel routes, such as:

  • Along skirting gaps, corners, and floor edges
  • In cracks and crevices around cupboards and units
  • Around pipe entry points under sinks and behind toilets
  • Behind kickboards and into voids (where safe and accessible)

Avoid over-applying — a light dusting helps insects pick it up as they move through the area.

Residual powders can remain effective as long as they stay dry and undisturbed. You’ll usually need to reapply if the powder has been vacuumed/cleaned away, covered up, or exposed to moisture. Follow the product label for reapplication timings and safety guidance, especially around children and pets.
