Fast-Knockdown Insecticide Powders

Fast-Knockdown Insecticide Powders are designed for quick control of crawling insects where you need fast results. Apply a light, targeted dust to problem areas such as skirting edges, cracks and crevices, around door thresholds and behind appliances (where permitted). These powders are ideal for DIY use in hard-to-reach spots that sprays may miss. Always read the label and use as directed, avoid over-application, and keep children and pets away from treated areas until secure/safe as instructed.

FAQs: Fast-Knockdown Insecticide Powders

“Fast knock-down” powders are designed to deliver quick control when insects come into direct contact with the powder. They’re best used when you’ve found active insects or a clear hotspot, and you want faster results than a long-term monitoring approach.

It depends on your goal:

  • For fast knock-down: apply a light dusting exactly where you’re seeing activity (e.g. along a trail, around an active crack/gap, or where insects are emerging).
  • For hidden activity: dust into cracks, crevices and voids where insects travel and hide — skirting gaps, under sinks (around pipework), behind kickboards, and around entry points.

Avoid over-applying: a thin, barely visible layer is usually more effective than piles (insects are more likely to walk through it).

Sometimes—but not always. “Fast knock-down” refers to quick results on contact, while longer-term control depends on whether the powder is designed to stay active as a residual treatment. If activity keeps returning, consider combining:

  • Fast knock-down for what you can see now, plus
  • A residual treatment for pathways/harbourages, and (where suitable) an IGR to help break the life cycle.
